Age of Reforging: The Freelands - Freeland is the land of city-states where everything is traded, including people: slavery surprises no one here, and gladiators take to the sand for the excitement of the nobility and the bets of businessmen. The main character is one of those fighters himself, and one day he decides that he won’t tolerate this anymore. It all starts with the arena. Victories bring money to the owner, but only wear and tear and bruises to the fighter, so between fights you have to look for allies, save up for equipment and look out for those who are also ready for more. Gradually, a detachment gathers around, and with it, goals higher than personal freedom appear. Promotion comes through deeds, and not through experience for murders: reputation in cities opens access to markets and part-time jobs. The world is huge and not divided into levels: travel between cities takes days, and the roads are dangerous. Trade provides funds, crafts provide equipment, and guilds and factions offer tasks that easily develop into politics. There are more than six hundred types of weapons here: swords, spears, axes, bows, crossbows and everything in between. Battles proceed step by step, so equipment, order of actions, shelters and supplies of consumables are important. Here it is not customary to lead the hero by the hand: where to look for allies and whether it is worth contacting the local authorities at all, the player decides. A considerable part of the tasks are solved by trade, persuasion or bribery, and not by the sword. Anyone who wants a sandbox about a gladiator who starts a rebellion, rather than killing monsters for a reward. Individual mercenaries join the squad for a share of the spoils, not for promises, and stick around in battle as long as they pay. The legends about the goddess of fate are not an empty phrase here: you can rely on luck if you feed it with gifts.
