Mistakes rarely look like mistakes—they appear in small ways and accumulate. The world is generated randomly and lives according to its own laws: the history of the region is created with cities, wars and legends, and the fortress fits into it. There is also an adventure mode where you can walk around this world alone. It is also worth noting that in addition to construction, there is also trade with neighbors, diplomacy and wars, as well as random events such as invasions. In addition, there is a mode where you can observe the history of the generated world without management - it develops itself. The interface takes some getting used to, but after the first hours it becomes understandable. The game does not have an ending in the usual sense: the fortress lives as long as the player is interested. For those who love complex simulations, this is the standard of the genre. The game is difficult and requires patience, and the interface is intimidating at first. But in terms of depth, the Dwarf Fortress still has no equal: here the story takes shape on its own, from decisions and accidents.
