Sakura Hime

Sakura Hime begins with the hero waking up in an unfamiliar place and realizing that he has fallen into a trap. All around is a mysterious courtyard, where a witch girl meets him and immediately gives him an assignment: to go to other girls and get acquainted, in order to eventually gain access to the “Wonderland”. Then everything depends on conversations and decisions. The heroines have different personalities, and how the player builds communication determines what scenes will open. In addition to dialogues, there are simple puzzles and mini-games that need to be solved in order to advance through the story. The design is light and anime-like, the music is calm, and there is a lot of text. The game is small in scope: you can complete it in a few evenings, and saving at key points allows you to try different communication options. Some materials are addressed to adults. Separately, it is worth noting that communication is based not only on the choice of remarks: sometimes you need to find an object or complete an order for the conversation to take place at all. This adds a small amount of activity to the reading and keeps the story from becoming all text. Progress is saved automatically, so you can return to the passage at any time, even after a week. The game works without a network connection, and it is light in weight: you can keep it in your collection and return to familiar scenes whenever you want. There are no serious systems or complex mechanics here, and this is a conscious choice. Sakura Hime is a light story about dating in a strange world, where the main thing is curiosity and a willingness to talk.
