BattleBlock Theater

BattleBlock Theater is a platformer with cartoon graphics and a side view. It has a simple plot, because it is far from the main one in this genre. The player takes on the role of a prisoner who goes through various levels of the theater with one goal - to save Hattie Hattington. The gameplay at first glance is simple: progression through the levels is linear, simple and standard jumps for the genre, a couple of types of enemy attacks. The main feature is the dynamics and the ability to play with a friend. The locations themselves are created from blocks with different properties. There are both simple surfaces and sticky walls, disappearing or repelling blocks, with spikes or water, and so on. Initially, two modes are available: “Adventure” and “Arena”. It is possible to download entire maps created by the gaming community, with various tasks in their territories. Throughout the story you will go through several chapters divided into levels. To open the next episode, you need to collect a sufficient number of precious stones - decorations, and fight the boss. Another currency will be yarn. The guard cats will sell you weapons for them. The gameplay is based on mutual assistance with artificial intelligence or another player. Only teamwork will help you quickly complete each level within the allotted time. If you invest in a timer, you will receive a special A++ rating and additional gems. The "Arena" is an area for 2-4 players who will compete in certain mini-toys to score points. The one who collects them the most wins. You can pair up and play in a team competition.
