Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical cooperative horror game inspired by teen slashers. The plot centers on four survivors fighting against a fifth player who controls a bloodthirsty maniac. The defending team's job is to do everything possible to prevent them from dying by dawn. Once in the same location as the killer, you need to use the environment and interact with your partners in an attempt to confront the monster. In order for the victory to be counted for the survivor, it is necessary to open the gate leading from the location. There are 5 generators available on the map that will need to be started. The maniac can catch people and hang them on special hooks for sacrifices to the Entity. By controlling the killer, you can not kill the victims, but leave them helpless, so that they suffer and bleed. People are much weaker than the monster, so they cannot enter into direct confrontation. In Dead by Daylight you need to use the environment to fight the enemy or hide out of sight of the maniac. Control of the maniac is presented from a first-person view. The survivors are controlled from the third. The maniac will win if he kills all the people. The closer it is, the faster the victim's heart beats. The maps have toilets, narrow openings, bushes, beds and many other places where you can hide. The killer can see all the actions performed by other players: broken hooks, a working generator, a triggered trap, a phantom trap, etc. Several monsters with their own unique abilities are presented: Hunter, Witch, Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Amanda Young, etc. At the beginning of the match, you can install certain skills and perks that affect battle tactics: “Knockout”, “Deer Hunter”, “Crusher”, “Your Own Doctor” and others. People get pumped up using the bloody web. The main currency is blood points. They buy additional abilities. They are divided by rarity: common, uncommon, rare, ultra-rare and trainable. You can summon the Essence starting from level 10. At level 30, trainable skills are unlocked. Most equipment and support items are chargeable. If it is completely used up, the weapon or equipment cannot be used for the rest of the match.
