Lore is revealed through NPC monologues and descriptions of things found. The story has several endings. The plot combines sad moments and humor. After the first playthrough, end-game content opens. This is an adventure game with Metroidvania elements. Death's Door has an isometric view. As you progress, the hero gains new abilities. They allow him to climb into previously inaccessible places where collectibles, new weapons or altars are located that give an increase in health or energy. Because of this, you will have to return to locations you have already visited. There is also pumping. For collected souls and money, you can increase characteristics, such as damage or attack speed. Upgrades are purchased at a central location that serves as a hub. Periodically, the hero is locked in small arenas, where he is forced to fight with 4-5 opponents. The enemies here are very diverse. Some of them prefer to attack close, while others like to shoot from afar. At the same time, enemies are able to touch their allies with fire. Boss battles are also available, divided into several stages. The game reveals the motivation of each leader he encounters. The main character can deliver regular and charged attacks, roll, shoot with a bow and use magic. However, the arsenal is becoming available gradually. It is used not only to destroy monsters, but also to solve puzzles.
