Deltarune

Deltarune is a spin-off of the puzzle game Undertale, as indicated by the name itself, composed as an anagram. The difference from the original is immediately noticeable: the battle is now led by a whole team of heroes. Instead of one hero, there is now a team: the characters act in turns, and the outcome of the battle depends on the order. Magic, protection and items are distributed among the participants. Companions can defend themselves, use magic, and use other abilities, and the order of their actions affects the outcome of the battle. The systems have also changed significantly: leveling up, inventory, and interacting with the world look different than in the previous game. The world remained recognizable in spirit, but acquired its own places, jokes and riddles, and familiar motifs were rethought. Some scenes are presented from the perspective of different characters, which adds volume to the view. The story takes the characters through familiar themes, but with its own characters and mysteries that are gradually revealed. Some events are presented with humor, some with sadness, and this combination has long become the author’s calling card. The music is again at its best: the melodies change depending on the scenes and remain in the memory for a long time. Updates bring new chapters and the plot continues to unfold. The sequel comes out in chapters, and each one adds new heroes, opponents and music. The community deconstructs dialogue and searches for hidden connections to Undertale, discussing theories between updates and finding Easter eggs in the most unexpected scenes. Anyone who appreciates stories with warmth and strangeness will find this road familiar.
