HAAK

HAAK is an action platformer that uses Metroidvania mechanics to create a fun gameplay experience that combines different styles. The setting of this project, developed by an indie team without the support of world-famous publishers, is a post-apocalyptic distant future in an alternative universe. Graphically, the game has a retro style using a side-mounted camera and 2D backgrounds. The overall gloomy atmosphere of hopelessness is emphasized by dark tones, hinting at the plight of a world on the brink of destruction. The main weapon of the virtual protégé, with whom the main character will spend all the time in the single-player story campaign, is an energy hook, which has a wide range of functions that will help overcome all the difficulties and traps set by the creators. The energy hook can be used not only to eliminate numerous enemies, but also as an item that simplifies and speeds up the process of moving through the territories of the gloomy world. In addition to plot twists and constant skirmishes with superior numbers of enemies, the player can expect a huge layer of gameplay associated with solving spatial puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty and complexity. They are overcome by activating one’s own ingenuity and interacting with surrounding objects. Also an important ability for successfully completing the storyline is the ability to keep the rhythm and not get lost. Often the player is faced with a chain of difficult jumps or several aggressive enemy units; Only by pressing the right keys in time can you overcome all the difficulties that befall the main character, dressed in black with a dark blue cloak.
