Hogs of War

Hogs of War puts you in control of a squad of piglets fighting on 3D platforms. The system is turn-based: for each turn you can use one character, attacking or taking advantageous positions. All pigs can swim, but water is harmful to their health. The turn ends when time runs out or the fighter takes damage, such as falling from a great height. Wind and altitude knock down overhead shots. Each fighter is assigned a class by the player, and there are four to choose from. The marksman uses bazookas, cannons and rocket launchers, the engineer specializes in explosives, the spy is invisible on the map and carries a sniper rifle, and the medic heals allies' wounds. Regardless of class, everyone can grab equipment scattered across the platforms, and in addition to traditional equipment, the piglets use tanks and stationary weapons from some locations. Mines are scattered near the platforms. The unit consists of eight soldiers. Initially, these are recruits with basic equipment and a small supply of health. Over time, they can be improved, and this is achieved by winning medals, which are awarded mainly for completing a mission. Medals give access to new types of equipment. Additional rewards are obtained for special tasks, such as winning a battle without casualties. Campaign and multiplayer for up to four people are available. First of all, a class for pigs is selected, and the main goal is to conquer the five regions of the continent of Saustralasia. Opponents are controlled by the computer or another player. For players who love turn-based platform shootouts, this game is perfect.
