inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is about the aesthetics of the everyday, revealed through a meditative simulation of the work of a Japanese convenience store in the 1990s. The immersion process is accompanied by detailed ASMR sound: the hum of refrigerators, the rustle of food packaging and the sound of rain behind the glass of a display case. The project conveys philosophical concepts of the transience of meetings and the bright sadness of everyday things. The atmosphere of calm is organically complemented by the collection of miniature figurines from a street gachapon machine. Each shift behind the counter creates a unique emotional background, forcing the gamer to pay close attention to the usual little things. The storyline revolves around a college student named Makoto Hayakawa, who comes to a provincial town for 1 week to help her aunt at a small family establishment, Honky Ponky. The walkthrough of inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is built around a detailed study of the hidden secrets of clients. To ensure the smooth operation of the outlet and earn the trust of visitors, the main character will have to: • carefully arrange incoming nostalgic products on the shelves; • organize new deliveries in a timely manner through telephone calls; • methodically scan purchased goods through the cash register; • build extensive dialogues with colorful local residents; • make difficult decisions that directly affect the fate of other people.
