Night Cascades

Night Cascades - Diane Cater studied folklore and earned a degree for her knowledge without even knowing how it would turn out. A series of arson attacks sweeps across the city, and the traces lead to the occultists, and residents are already ready to look for the culprits among strangers. The evidence in the case does not add up to a simple picture: part of the evidence points to a cult, part to the usual hatred of neighbors. The police invite Diane to be a consultant, and she has to work together with Jackie, a sharp girl from the station who can both shoot and put her in her place with one look. Relationships begin with mutual irritation. The arson case is divided into episodes, and in each episode new faces appear with their own interests. This is a visual novel about an investigation: examining places, talking with witnesses and drawing conclusions from little things. The mysticism is presented in such a way that until the very end it is not clear where the real rituals are and where is human malice. Conversations with townspeople reveal more than official reports, but you can’t trust every word. Some of the scenes take place in the police station, where the consultant is treated with suspicion and is in no hurry to share materials. The action takes place in the eighties, and this is felt in the details: equipment, clothing, order in the precinct. The heroines' falling in love runs parallel to the case, and how both ends depends on the decisions. Relationship branches affect which scenes are available, so you want to go through the story with a different line. Mysticism is more of a background here: the real intrigue is based on who benefits from what is happening in the city. For those who love detective stories with a mystical touch and leisurely relationships between characters.
