Railway Empire 2 is a transport strategy set in the early nineteenth century. The player leads a small railway company that will become an economic leader thanks to steam engines. Competitors are not asleep, and a network of railways connects cities and companies across the continent. There are sixty famous steam engines pulling freight and passenger cars. Steam locomotives differ in power and fuel consumption. Competitors lose positions with successful decisions. The maps in the sequel are larger, more detailed, and more vibrant than ever. The journeys cover the United States and continental Europe on two huge maps, with more detailed maps dedicated to specific regions. Improved pathing and new features help you make important decisions, develop your economy, and grow your cities. Freight trains transport raw materials between factories. Semaphores are installed automatically, bridges support up to four tracks, and extended stations accommodate up to eight. The manager for the company is chosen from six characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Passengers demand convenient transfers. After completing five campaigns or any of fourteen scenarios, you can set the difficulty level in customizable free mode or build the perfect network in construction mode. You can compete with competitors together with friends in co-op. You can also board your own train and admire the scenery as the train rushes along the rails.
