RoboCop: Rogue City

RoboCop: Rogue City is a first-person shooter about a cyborg cop tasked with dealing with riots in Detroit. There are calls to crime scenes, conversations with residents, and corporate secrets into which the hero gets involved against his will. Between operations, the hero serves at the police station: he accepts applications, checks documents and resolves domestic disputes. Some scenes change depending on what decisions the player makes, so everyone has their own outcome. Skill development is organized along the following branches: armor strength, weapon proficiency, service privileges. Enemies vary in stubbornness and equipment, and improvised items and equipment help deal with the crowd. There are also investigations where attentiveness and the evidence found are important, not accuracy. In addition to the main line, there are side quests and small requests from townspeople. Skills are unlocked as your service progresses, and some of them affect not so much combat as conversations: with leveled up conviction, some conflicts are resolved without shooting. Weapons and armor also evolve, and the modules found change recoil and lethality. Work at the station goes on as usual: statements, minor incidents and requests from residents add to the everyday routine. The weather and time of day change the appearance of the streets, and the order in the city is noticeable by the reaction of passers-by. Evidence and interrogations are sometimes more important than a shootout, because the correct conclusion closes the case without unnecessary casualties. The weapon is selected for the task: a shotgun in a narrow corridor, a rifle on the street, and a shield is useful in any case. Small requests from townspeople give additional points, which unlock skills. The setting is reminiscent of something familiar from the films: the same faces, the same music, the same gloomy city. For those who like strong action stories with police routine, the game is suitable.
