Sega SuperStars Tennis is tennis in which the heroes of famous Sega series take to the court. The opponents differ not only in appearance, but also in their special techniques: one hits with a special spin, the other unleashes a whole effect on the court that breaks the usual rhythm of the rally. The venues are designed based on the games: there are bright streets with pipes, space decorations, and recognizable musical motifs. The animations are emphatically cartoonish, and the matches themselves are based on a simple rule - hit the ball on time, but with the caveat that sometimes the characters' abilities interfere with the game. In addition to regular games, there is a set of mini-tasks, where instead of gaining points you need to complete a specific goal: hit targets, hold out or break objects. There are tournaments and a doubles mode for four players, so the evening is fun with one console. It’s also worth noting that in addition to matches, there are tasks based on famous series: in some places you need to knock out targets, in others you need to hold out against a wave of opponents. Such tests help to understand how this or that character’s ability works. And in tournaments the difficulty gradually increases, and the computer begins to use special attacks as actively as the player. There is also a party mode with simple rules, where victory goes to the one who best guessed the moment for a special blow. Don't look for a serious simulation experience here - this is party tennis with fan service. But if you want matches where it’s not so much technique that matters, but recognizable characters and ridiculous situations, the Sega SuperStars Tennis hits the mark.
