Toxic Grind

The Toxic Grind takes you back to 2097, where BMX riding has been made a crime. If you get caught on the board, you are sent not to prison, but to a TV show, where for every unsuccessful trick the retribution is more serious than a fine: a toxin is injected into the blood, and time works against the player. The rules are simple and cruel. To get a dose of the antidote, you need to perform and score points: the riskier the combination, the greater the chance of surviving until the next round. The host of the show does not hide his sadism and comments on every failure, so what is happening feels more like a survival attraction than a sporting competition. In addition to arenas with jumps and railings, there are also open spaces where you can ride between tasks. The tricks are based on the usual scheme: acceleration, lift-off, rotation, landing. A mistake at the exit from the link costs health, and health here is the same timer, only in different units. It is also worth noting that the arenas in the show replace each other: an abandoned warehouse, tunnels, rooftops and industrial zones are combined into a route, and each site has its own obstacles. The scoring of tricks depends on the complexity and purity of execution, and a series of successful techniques extends the time until the next dose. The tasks are different: somewhere you need to score points, somewhere you need to catch up with your opponent and knock him out of the fight. The project turned out to be rough, with conventional graphics and frankly arcade physics. But he has his own idea: the Toxic Grind is a rare case when a skateboard game turns into a fight for life, and even the simplest trick takes on an unpleasant aftertaste.
