Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors is based on a simple idea: the character attacks himself, and the player only moves and dodges. The map is filled with monsters and gold, and the main task is to survive as long as possible without falling into a dense ring of undead. Control comes down to moving in one direction, so the point of the race is to choose a good position and not allow yourself to be surrounded. Levels are built randomly, in a roguelike style, and weapons and upgrades are chosen as you level up. By putting together certain combinations, you can turn a modest whip into a real weapon of destruction or surround yourself with orbital projectiles. In addition to weapons, there is a system of relics and permanent improvements that can be purchased for gold between visits. The race doesn't last long, but it opens up characters, maps, and constant power-ups that make it not a shame to lose. Secrets like hidden chests and bosses that appear on a schedule encourage you to come back and try new builds. Each map has its own routine: some are spacious, others are cramped, and some are revealed only after certain conditions. Add-ons and parody sets of fighters turned the project into a platform for the most unexpected heroes, and simple controls allow you to play even on your phone. The game was put together by a small studio, and it benefits from this, because there is nothing superfluous in it. The graphics are deliberately modest, but hundreds of enemies fit on the screen, and this adds excitement to what is happening. For those players who love short runs and turning a weak hero into a machine for destruction, this is a treat.
