Better Than Dead

Better Than Dead is a gritty body camera shooter inspired by classic Hong Kong action films and featuring exquisite detail. The plot centers on the fate of a surviving woman who decides to punish her tormentors and film her actions. The visual execution takes inspiration from the aesthetics of late 20th century Asian crime thrillers, combining the neon glow of entertainment venues with the darkness of alleyways. Each stage here is a furious attack in which personal scores come to the fore. The main character not only eliminates her opponents, but also makes the world an involuntary witness to her triumph, broadcasting footage of the brutal massacre. Gameplay is focused on high-speed and risky encounters with fire, in which reaction speed is critical. Any mistake in Better Than Dead turns out to be critical due to the high vulnerability of the heroine and the uncompromising nature of the ballistic system. Armament is limited to one pistol, which forces you to wisely manage your ammo and carefully plan your movements across the 14 available locations. Especially for connoisseurs of extreme challenges, the “To Heaven” mode has been implemented, revealing the true ending of this dark story. The whole cycle boils down to the methodical exclusion of objects from the personal list of convicts and maintaining composure in crisis situations. Clearing city neighborhoods of criminal gangs is accompanied by the search and rescue of other prisoners who fell into the same trap. The environments, from cramped office spaces to open rooftop areas, provide a deep dive into the atmosphere of despair and revenge. Refusal of redundant interface solutions and emphasis on the physics of movements allows you to fully concentrate on tactical execution. Each accurate shot is perceived as the logical finale of preparation, and the destruction of the invaders becomes the only way to regain control over life.
