Colin McRae Rally 2005 is the fifth installment in the driving simulator franchise, which features the famous Scottish rally driver in its title. This project has been developed by the British company Codemasters for several years. The long production period is due to the large amount of content present in the game, as well as the transition to a more modern engine compared to previous parts. This made it possible to improve the physical model of the behavior of each of the presented cars, of which there are more than 30: Ford Focus WRC '01, Citroen Xsara WRC04, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, Audi A3, Subaru Impreza WRX STI '04, Peugeot 206 WRC2003 and many others. There are also effects of the driver feeling unwell after serious collisions, they are displayed by blurring the screen, which makes it difficult to pilot. Colin McRae Rally 2005 was the first part with a full-fledged career, where you could create your protégé and customize him and his car. It all starts with amateur competitions, where victories must be achieved in order to raise the profile in racing circles and gain promotion to higher classes. The ultimate goal is to fight Colin himself in the most prestigious series. In addition to the career, there is the possibility of a separate start, time trials and multiplayer battles both using the Internet and on the same computer at home with friends. More than 70 stages await the gamer in various territories around the world, where the road surfaces will be different: snowy Finland, Australian gravel, Spanish smooth asphalt, snowy and icy expanses of Sweden, dusty highways of the United States of America and so on.
