Contraband Police is a first-person border guard simulator where the player commands a post on the border of third world countries. The work consists of inspecting cars, checking documents and talking with drivers, who try to say as little as possible. There are a lot of little things at the checkpoint: a technical inspection, an entry permit, a broken tire or a leaking tank. Even a typo in a passport becomes a reason to refuse entry. Found alcohol, drugs or weapons require a report to headquarters and detention. The temptation to take a bribe is always there, but such decisions have consequences. Some of the loads are checked with a dog or a device, some are checked by ear and intuition. Between shifts, the post develops: new tools and orders from superiors appear. Between shifts, the post is set up: equipment, a dog and orders from the authorities appear. Evidence is recorded in a journal, and the goods and weapons found are sent to headquarters. The detainees behave differently, and some of them try to come to an agreement on the spot. Mistakes cost money and reputation. The shift order depends on the schedule, and there are other drivers on the road at night. Contraband is hidden in the tanks, trim, and even in the suspension of the car. The money found will be useful for setting up the post and purchasing equipment. Sometimes you have to decide whether to trust a person or follow the instructions to the letter. The management regularly sends new papers with rules. Trucks take longer to inspect than cars. For each missed subject, money is deducted from the salary.
