Description
Floating Sandbox is a 2D sandbox that features the destruction and sinking of ships. The physics here is complex and thoughtful: it calculates the degree of damage to the hull and the water level inside. Sounds are recorded separately and in detail - from the grinding of metal to explosions and fractures. Bulkheads burst under the pressure of water. The list grows, and the deck disappears from under your feet.
The Titanic problem can be modeled in its entirety. The hull is pierced by an iceberg, the hull is undermined by a bomb, and the ship breaks exactly as calculated. The overturned ship is allowed to be viewed from all sides. By shifting the center of mass with flooded compartments, it is easy to get an unexpected result. The debris pulls the stern, lifting the bow upward. The hole expands under the pressure of the waves. A catastrophe can be triggered at any moment.
As soon as water gets inside, a chain of continuous processes starts. The ship is gradually sinking to the bottom, and it is interesting to watch. The behavior depends on the design: physics calculates the weight of each case and module separately. The portholes are cracking and leaking. Wet decks accelerate heeling. Water floods the corridors of deck after deck.
The built-in editor allows you to draw your own ships and objects. Each material has mass, strength, rigidity and water permeability - it is on these properties that destruction is based. You can arrange your own disaster from scratch and assess its scale. Lifeboats move away from the side.
For those who love technical experiments with physics, this game is suitable.
