Heroes of Might and Magic 6 continues the tradition of turn-based battles established by the series' predecessors. The game takes place 400 years before the events of the fifth part of the game. The game will tell about the Griffin dynasty at a time when this family was just a duchy. The player controls each of the five children of the griffin dynasty in the main story campaigns. Heirs can become heroes of both Magic and Sword, and each leads their own faction. The factions in Might & Magic Heroes VI 6 are the Alliance of Light, League of Shadows, Necropolis, Inferno, Sanctuary and Defiant Tribes. Each faction has two types of heroes - the warrior, traditionally specialized in attack and defense, and the mage, a wise sorcerer. In addition, a new reputation system has been introduced into the game - Tears and Blood. Depending on whether the hero is cruel or merciful, his reputation changes to one extreme or another. Free the retreating enemies and distribute the gold you find to the peasants - you will receive Tears points. Kill all those escaping and take the gold for yourself to raise the reputation of the Blood. Upon reaching a certain level, the hero will unlock a new special skill or spell. In addition, adherence to Tears and Blood unlocks new racial special abilities. For example, the necromancer of Tears resurrects the dead and increases their longevity, and the necromancer of Blood gives vampirism to his subordinates. Player territories are now divided into kingdoms. In each domain, all resource points, mines and forts automatically replenish their ruler's supplies. To gain control over them, you need to capture the city where they belong. And now it doesn’t matter if an enemy character raids your rear, he still won’t get anything until he takes possession of the city itself. Also, the number of main resources has been reduced to four - gold, wood, ore and blood crystals. Of course, the ability to independently play prepared scenarios or favorite games of many players against each other, both in multiplayer and over a local network, and on one computer, has not gone away.
