God of War: Chains of Olympus - Kratos' story takes place before the events of the first major part: he still serves the gods of Olympus and hopes that this will save him from nightmares. The nightmares of the past do not let go, and serving the gods seems to be the only way to forget. One day, trouble comes to the gods themselves: Morpheus puts Olympus into sleep, and the abduction of Helios threatens the world with eternal darkness. Kratos sets off to rescue his brothers, simultaneously dealing with the Persians and those who stand in his way. Rage is spent on magic and restored in battle, so it is better to stretch the power over the entire battle, and not drain it in the first seconds. Battles take place in third person and are fought with chain blades. Fast and heavy blows alternate, enemies are thrown into the air, and finishing moves are launched at the right time by pressing the button. Magic skills spend rage and noticeably change the pattern of combat. Weapons and health are enhanced by the treasures found, so the nooks and crannies are worth exploring. The bosses here are large and require patience: until you understand the moves, mistakes cost your life. The world consists of temples, harbors and underground halls, and in between there are puzzles with levers and bodies that need to be dragged somewhere. In addition to combat episodes, there are scenes with levers, chains and bridges, where you need to pull an object in time or fly over an abyss. Some opponents require patience: you can’t hit them head-on, you have to wait for the moment and hit them in an open place.
