Description
Instruments of Destruction is a sandbox dedicated to construction and destruction. The player's main tool is vehicles, which you can assemble yourself and then use to demolish buildings and complete tasks. The designer does not limit the shape: the parts are used to assemble both neat earth-moving machines and crazy multi-legged units, as long as the mechanics can withstand.
Physics is key here: every part has weight, connections are checked for strength, and destruction occurs according to calculation, and not according to a script. If the frame is too flimsy, the excavator will collapse on the first impact, but a properly assembled machine will demolish concrete walls beautifully and predictably.
The tasks gradually become more complicated: in some places you need to quickly clear an area, in others you need to get to a goal over rough terrain. Additionally, there is a free play mode where you can safely experiment with designs and see what comes of it.
It is also worth noting that the game has an editor where you can save your cars and share designs with other players. Damage is calculated physically, so the collapse of a building looks different depending on the point of impact. For those who love to both build and break, this is a rare combination in one project.
The project was made by a small team and is in development, but it already gives the feeling of a real engineering site. For fans of physical sandboxes, this is an activity that will last tens of hours.
