Just Cause

Just Cause - agent named Rico Rodriguez lands on a tropical island with the task of eliminating the local dictator Salvador Mendoza. Instead of a neat operation, it turns out to be a multi-year war with the government, drug cartels and rebels. Local factions are at odds with each other, and some of the tasks are based on pitting factions against each other. The world is open and huge: jungles, beaches, mountain roads and cities are interconnected, and you can move around on foot, in cars, motorcycles, boats and planes. The list of equipment is long, and almost any car can be stolen while driving. For liberated villages and destroyed objects, points are given, and with them the hero’s capabilities grow. There are a lot of weapons, but you can’t carry everything with you, so the set changes to suit the task. Chases, parachute jumps and vehicle stunts occur so often that you get used to perceiving them as commonplace. Instead of firepower, tricks are used: grappling hook, parachute and grappling hook, allowing you to cling to vehicles and climb onto roofs. Explosions occur spontaneously, and some tasks can be solved by dropping a tank or a helicopter on the enemy’s head. The plot leads through several islands, but no one bothers you to turn aside and start liberating the villages. The more chaos there is, the more willing the locals are to take up arms. Attractions are also worth visiting: they give upgrades, and along the way, side stories of the island are revealed. The game is designed for a free pace and does not punish for lack of discipline. For those players who love big sandboxes, where the main thing is to make as much noise as possible.
