The events of the second part develop for us in the same world, on the planet E.D.N. III. After the events of the first part, the snow melted, the deserts became bare, and pirates settled in the jungle that appeared. The main character destroys many pirates as part of Akrid G, and then learns that the main command did not intend to evacuate the personnel after the battle. In the third-person shooter - Lost Planet 2 - we are immersed in the same planet, but the plot and gameplay have undergone major changes for the better. The scenario begins with the same NEVEC task force. In The Carpetbagger, a special force crashes a train equipped with massive cannons. However, the party fails and Akrid G ​​reappears. The heroes destroy it and retire to a safe place, and the plot shows us the identical faces of the heroes, who are clones of Ivan Solotov. Events switch to snow pirates raiding Carpetbagger. The scenario shows that the group, returning with heavy losses, was intercepted by a G-category Akrid, as well as sand raiders using an armored train with massive cannons. The pirates wanted to escape, charged the helicopter with energy, but were shot down by the pirates and remained in the minority. The plot has several logical connections, and we see the events of several groups at once. The developers retained the extreme terrain, boss fights, control of a character in an armored suit, and also added to the cooperative mode the ability for two players to cling to a third one controlling the mech. Thermal energy is wasted less because the ambient temperature is much higher, but thermal weapons still use energy. Players in a group will be able to maintain energy levels by using new targeted weapons for defense. Each mission now gives points depending on the success of its completion. These battle points can be spent on customizing costumes. The multiplayer mode is not much different from Lost Planet, but now the appearance editor can completely change the entire character, not just the torso and face.
