Low Magic Age

Low Magic Age - the character is created manually: race, class, characteristics and starting equipment. This set determines how the path through the cities, villages and dungeons where the hero is sent on missions will turn out. Some maps are procedurally generated, so familiar places alternate with unexpected ones. The battles are turn-based, but with a lot of details: limited vision, fog, maneuvering, spells and positions. There are more than a hundred types of opponents, divided into categories, and each requires its own approach - from goblins and trolls to basilisks. Range of vision and fog greatly influence the battle: from afar, only patrolmen notice the hero, and in tight quarters, those who know how to hit close up get an advantage. Maneuvering costs an action, and spells cost mana, so you have to plan ahead for a long battle. Experience is given for completed tasks and victories, but the level itself does not decide much - equipment and tactics are more important. There is also plenty of equipment in the game: dozens of ordinary items, over ninety magic items and about eighty spells. Weapons are divided by damage type, and equipment like Gloves of Agility or Bracers of Counterattack changes tactics more than the next level. A separate part of the game is trade: goods are bought in one region and sold profitably in another. You can make good money from price differences if you follow what a specific market needs. There is also an arena with strong opponents: there you can check the composition of your squad without the risk of failing the story mission. The group gathers gradually, and it is better to take mercenaries for a specific campaign. Anyone who loves tabletop rules about dungeons and is ready to count the stats before each battle.
