ROUTINE begins with an exploration of a silent lunar base, a site built according to the canons of ideas about the future of the 80s. The initial search for information quickly gives way to the immediate need to survive in the face of an unknown threat. A hostile presence confronts the player, identifying them as the main danger within the abandoned complex. Tension mounts as they become aware of their complete isolation and the fact that every shadow may conceal a deadly danger. Each discovery raises more questions about the events that took place, forcing you to move forward through an abandoned station that has become a death trap. The path takes you through contrasting sectors of the lunar complex, including abandoned shopping malls and decaying living quarters. In these areas, it is necessary to carefully study the environment in order to reconstruct a picture of the events that preceded the arrival. The gaming experience in ROUTINE is created using full body control, story-driven audio, and a minimalistic interface to maintain an oppressive atmosphere. The gameplay is built on immersion, forcing you to listen carefully to every rustle and analyze the situation without the usual prompts on the screen, bit by bit collecting scattered data from the terminals. The Astronaut Assistance Instrument, or C.A.T., is vital equipment for interacting with the world. It provides access to key terminals, helps you navigate in space and allows you to find important evidence. When faced with danger, the game encourages you to run, hide, or try to defend yourself, but direct confrontation is almost always fatal. This sci-fi horror project makes you feel constantly vulnerable while C.A.T. serves as a last resort.
