The RTL Winter Sports 2009: The Next Challenge sports simulator allows you to plunge into winter sports. The key feature is that there is no one specific discipline. The developers have focused their attention on the variety of gameplay, and therefore the variability of activities is extremely high. The creators of the project relieved the user of the storyline and presented their brainchild in a kind of Winter Olympic Games with all available types of sports competitions. Gamers can independently participate in the following competitions: • biathlon (a combination of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting); • ski jumping; • alpine skiing; • figure skating; • bobsleigh (descent along ice tracks on a specially equipped sled); • curling (a remote form of hockey in which a large and heavy granite projectile is moved with a stick). Each specific qualification has a unique mechanic added to it that makes what happens on ice and snow realistic, which is extremely important for the simulator genre. Before the start of the championship, you can choose an athlete and the country for which he will compete. Unfortunately, there is no way to customize your character and change equipment. The task is extremely simple - to take the most prestigious place possible, which is encouraged by medals and cups.
