SILENT HILL 2 Remake

SILENT HILL 2 is a remake of the cult survival horror game from the 2000s. Unreal Engine 5 is responsible for the visual component of this reimagining of the classic, thanks to which the game boasts improved graphics and updated special effects, including improved fog. The third-person view has noticeably changed. The developers did not transfer the fixed camera to the new sequel. Now it is located behind the character's back, like in current AAA horror films, allowing users to watch what is happening from behind the main character's shoulder. The developers also abandoned the original's combat system. Instead, they wanted to rework the combat and some other elements to meet modern gaming industry standards. The studio tried to make the product more attractive to younger players, while trying not to forget about long-time fans. Sounds and music have been re-recorded. Musical and sound design is once again entrusted to composer Akira Yamaoka. The plot of the remake of Silent Hill 2 follows the plot of the original game. The writers tried to adhere to the canon without radically changing anything. The story again focuses on James Sunderland, whose wife has died. One day he receives a letter from his deceased wife, who invites him to visit their special place. After this, the man goes to a city called Quiet Hill. Near the lake, he meets not his beloved, but a woman very similar in appearance and voice to her, who says that her name is Maria. You don't need to have played other video games in the franchise to understand the story and narrative. However, for those who launched them (especially the original second part), the creators added a lot of references and Easter eggs. They also decided to thoroughly rework the core gameplay. Regular SH came to computers as a port from consoles. Its redesigned version was immediately designed to be multi-platform.
