Sintopia

Sintopia offers a resurrection business guide where the player manages the bureaucratic operations of Hell. A team of Underlings punish the souls of the dead for their misdeeds, making profits to build and maintain a hellish empire. This project combines elements of a sandbox god simulator with complex control strategy mechanics. All gameplay takes place in a 1980s pop culture underworld setting where punishment and profit are directly intertwined at the heart of the gameplay. The gamer gains power over the Upper World, inhabited by people. In the Sintopia title, administrative magic can be used to influence their lives and encourage sinful behavior. If any mortal moves too slowly, direct intervention is permitted. Such actions range from casting a motivating Lightning spell to setting a house and its occupant on fire. Influence on the world of the living is balanced by the need to lead subordinates down and change the landscape of the hellish caves to their own preferences. Effective management in this game involves re-educating souls so that their sins do not accumulate from life to life. The excessive amount of unchecked corruption in the world eventually leads to a demonic invasion. This event entails direct consequences in the form of a drop in performance indicators and a serious decrease in profits. Careful supervision of the level of corruption is required, while other employees deal with the routine paperwork associated with conducting business in the underworld, which allows them to concentrate on the implementation of architectural projects.
