Сталкер Anomaly is an independent modification based on the Open X-Ray engine, continuing the life of the known world of the Zone. You can play freely: there are almost no plot frames, and you choose your own activity. The world is divided into locations where groups, mutants and stalkers roam with their own affairs. There is the repair and modernization of weapons, the economy, trade, as well as the ability to influence the balance of power between factions. Forays require preparation: first aid kits, ammo, detectors and food supplies are used up quickly. Quests are scattered across the map and can be taken in any order. The design is modest, but the atmosphere of a dangerous territory is conveyed. It’s worth mentioning separately about the factions: you can fight for them, help them, or quarrel, and the balance of power changes as the game progresses. In addition to quests, there is the repair and modernization of weapons, as well as an economy where trade occurs according to the rules of demand. First aid kits, cartridges and detectors are used up quickly, so the stock is replenished in advance. The modification continues to be developed by the community, adding locations and mechanics. The picture is modest, but the sense of dangerous territory is conveyed convincingly. Weather and time of day affect the appearance of mutants, so it is better to plan a foray into an unfamiliar place. Some of the tasks are given by a merchant, some by a random stalker, so it’s better not to skip conversations. Some locations are so dangerous that it is better not to go there at all without prepared equipment. Weather phenomena change the behavior of mutants, so sometimes it’s worth postponing the outing until the morning. For anyone who loves free survival in familiar scenery, the modification will provide many hours of play.
