Styx: Shards of Darkness is a stealth adventure that relies on cunning rather than brute force to survive, with an updated arsenal of abilities and tools. The key mechanics of cloning have been significantly reworked: you can now create a double from a distance using a throwing cocoon, or instantly teleport to it using the Rebirth skill. A new crossbow with different types of bolts and craftable traps that dissolve the remains of enemies with acid open up tactical options for silently destroying targets. Events take the protagonist to the dark elf city of Corrangar, where he is forced to penetrate after the fall of the Akenash Tower. Under the pretext of a diplomatic summit, the hero will have to penetrate an impregnable citadel to uncover a conspiracy, because the meeting turns out to be just a facade for sinister plans. Styx: Shards of Darkness's narrative delves into a complex world full of betrayals and unexpected alliances. Initially driven by revenge and greed, the goblin becomes embroiled in much larger events. A distinctive feature of the project is the multi-level layout of the locations, providing vertical movement between roofs, ledges and underground passages. Players are given freedom of movement using ropes and ziplines, allowing them to quickly cover long distances. New opponents force you to adapt your tactics: the giant blind insects Roabi have heightened hearing, and the gnome guards are able to smell the main character, which makes it difficult to advance undetected. To successfully complete the missions, you will need to develop assassin skills in one of the five available branches, including alchemy, stealth and assassination. Skill point distribution allows you to customize your playstyle, encouraging creative problem solving. This makes it possible to overcome challenges, whether it's sneaking past guards unnoticed or destroying targets using gadgets.
