System Shock Remake

System Shock 2023 is a remake of the legendary immersive simulator in a cyberpunk setting, taking the player to 2072 and making you feel like an unrivaled hacker who must stop the plans of the evil artificial intelligence SHODAN. The plot of the game begins from the moment when a hacker trying to hack access to the Citadel station is caught by the TriOptimum corporation. Edward Diego, the head of the company, offers the hero a deal: help in hacking the warring AI in exchange for freedom. The main character has no choice but to accept the terms of the agreement. The gameplay is first-person action. The main action takes place on a space station. To control the character, a Multifunctional Display is available, thanks to which the player performs the necessary actions. There are no NPCs in the game, so the main driving forces of the plot will be computer terminals. By hacking them, one can enter cyberspace, where the player travels through a 3D environment. Some doors in the real world need to be opened only by logging into the network. In our world, the hero uses 16 types of weapons, but can only take 7 types of ammunition with him to fight robots, mutants and cyborgs. Throwable weapons come with a choice of ammunition, including a dart gun that allows you to fire explosive charges or use it as a tranquilizer. Leather patches and first aid kits are used for wound healing and first aid. The patches can act as temporary boosts, but also have side effects such as distorting vision and colors. The effectiveness of an attack can always be monitored by the “Normal Damage” message displayed on the screen. Some enemies are immune to attacks or take damage from certain weapons. For example, EMP (electromagnetic) grenades can easily disable robots and enemy equipment, but gas grenades are useless against them. System Shock developers Doug Church and Warren Spector created a unique classic of immersive simulators, setting the vector for the entire genre that spawned followers in the form of Deus Ex, Thief and Bioshock.
