The events of Men of War: Assault Squad 2 - Cold War take place during the years of confrontation between the States and the Soviets. The player commands a regular army and a special unit. Under his command are tanks, helicopters, fighters and artillery installations. Artillery works across the squares and breaks down fortifications. Fighting takes place in the ruins of cities, broken air bases, in rural areas and among snow-covered villages. Victory goes to the one who competently leads the army and correctly distributes resources. On the global map, captured territories change color from red to blue. Each step of the offensive is visible in the general diagram. Sappers place mines on approaches to positions. The infantry is digging in on the captured lines. The gameplay offers several modes. “Capture territories” requires taking enemy positions and holding them until the end of the battle. “Extermination” is based on the extraction of resources and the destruction of enemy personnel and bases. “Direct control” allows you to switch to an individual fighter and act on his behalf. Repairing armored vehicles requires resources and time. Helicopters remove troops from the roofs of houses. There are two playable sides - the USA and the USSR. The map generator generates new scenarios every time you start the campaign, so repetitions are excluded. There are both single playthroughs and online matches.
