Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is a re-release of the classic real-time strategy game released in 1999 called The Age of Kings. The game is famous for the fact that the player develops his civilization from the Stone Age to the Modern Age. The gameplay is based on the fact that you need to hire peasants, gather troops, erect buildings, study maps, develop the era and explore new opportunities, technologies and, most importantly, destroy the enemy. It is advisable to catch the enemy in the previous era, develop as much as possible and eliminate him with more modern equipment and weapons. The game has several different modes: • the story of Joan of Arc; • wars of old North American civilizations; • single player game against artificial intelligence; • network battles; Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition boasts 35 civilizations, 24 campaigns, 16 historical battles, Art of War challenges and a built-in map editor with support for custom modifications. The re-release includes full compatibility with all modern machines, a choice of resolutions with support for native 4K, improved graphics with improved textures, many settings with the ability to select three AI modes (original, HD versions or Definitive) and fixes for many bugs and errors. At the same time, the game completely preserved the spirit of the classics and carefully transferred it to modern times. As they say, age is no hindrance to masterpieces.

1. Скачать в любое место (главное чтобы на пути к папке с игрой не было кириллицы)
2. Запуск игры с файла AoE2DE_s.exe в главной директории игры

Как удалить Enhanced Graphics Pack:
Если вам не требуется Enhanced Graphics Pack можно сократить размер игры. Для этого нужно сделать лишь 2 простых действия: (thx to Lazali)

1. Удалить строку 1039811=Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Enhanced Graphics Pack в steam_emu.ini в главной директории игры и сохранить файл
2. Заходите в папку "Age of Empires II Definitive Edition" в поиск по папке пишите "_x2" (без кавычек) [поясняющий скриншот] и удаляете все найденные файлы НЕ ЗАТРАГИВАЯ ПАПКИ gamedata _x2 (8484 файла, ~30 GB (на версии игры 169123))

Почему игра может не запускаться?
- Убирайте кириллицу из пути к папке с игрой,
- Имя пользователя Windows не должно содержать кириллицу,
- Убирайте атрибут "только чтение" с папки с игрой,
- Убирайте папку с игрой из торрент-клиента, перед тем как запускать игру,
- Выключайте антивирус, т.к. он может блокировать запуск исполняемых и/или дополнительных файлов.
- На самый крайний случай - перекачайте папку с игрой полностью, по новой.
