DARK SOULS 2 is an open-world role-playing game that takes us to the world of death, where the fact of death is far from the end. The character is constantly reborn in the last save location, but dies from a simple touch of the blade of any boss. The third-person slasher film tells the story of a nameless warrior in the kingdom of Drangleic. He wants to get rid of the spell that turned him into an undead, and to do this he needs to capture several souls from the demonic leaders. The gameplay of the game is designed to play through the same stage multiple times in order to understand how to approach each demonic boss. Your weapons, spells and armor will gradually improve, but the core gameplay will remain the same - deal as much damage as possible, but don't let the enemy hit you, because one hit can be fatal. The souls of enemies are the game currency. For them, the character can repair weapons, receive “services” from NPCs, upgrade skills and buy potions and armor. The main “mooring point” of the character is fires. Here he can replenish his flask with estus, repair items and communicate with NPCs who tell not only his story and further actions, but also the process of creating the entire world. You can increase your character level from “special” NPCs. They can be encountered at turning points at any stage. The game has a multiplayer mode in which players play as a “hollow” who can become a “human”, but many players simply interfere with the passage, dying from bosses, restoring their strength. The combat system in DARK SOULS II has undergone minor changes compared to the previous part. The character can jump and dodge - this is the basis of an “empty” life. Despite the fact that our hero is undead, he cannot miss a single blow and stay alive.
