Half Life 3

Half Life 3 is a prequel set five years before the familiar story. Alix Vance is only nineteen and has not yet met Gordon Freeman. The girl works with her father against the Alliance. Another sabotage ends with the father being captured, and the daughter rushes to the rescue. Rare Supply Crates hide a stash of ammo for a special occasion. Each channel compartment stores its own threat and its own supply of resin. Alix takes gravity gloves and firearms with her. Gloves attract needed items and serve as a container for finds. The city of City 17 stands inside high walls, and mutants live in the canals nearby: zombies, barnacles and headcrabs. The Resistance is trying to give Earth back control over its own destiny. The gravity grip is convenient for building bridges from scrap materials. Repairing weapons takes time and is best done between battles. At the locations you can find grenades, cartridges, first aid kit syringes and resin. Shotguns, pistols and rifles are pumped with resin. Canopies add a laser sight, a burst, or a compartment for grenades. Jars containing beetles are treated, and power sources are sought for enemy devices. Accuracy decides the outcome of battles, because armor absorbs hits to the body. Alliance troops patrol the streets and canals of City 17. Hacks are made into mini-games, and their complexity increases. One of these experiments forces balls with rays to move so that they pass through all points. In firefights, each enemy has its own weaknesses: the armored ones hold an energy shield, the antlion gets its limbs shot off, and the headcrab gets hit in the stomach. Alix comments on the findings and suggests where to move next. The resistance hides in basements and old buildings. For those who love prequels of their favorite series, this game is suitable.
