Knockout Kings 2000

Knockout Kings 2000 entered the virtual boxing ring in the late 90s of the last century, releasing on the Nintendo 64, PlayStation and even Game Boy Color consoles (it was called differently there). The game, developed by Black Ops Entertainment and published by EA Sports, challenged gamers to fight 25 legendary fighters wearing boxing gloves. Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard were just a couple of titans you could control, but Knockout Kings 2000 didn't stop there. It allows users to create their own boxers, adding a personal touch to the fights. The game has three different modes: Championship, Slaughter and Training. In the Championship you were on your way to glory, going through a grueling season to become champion. Slugfest is an all-out brawl, perfect for when you just want to throw some punches. What about the training format? Well, it was exactly what it sounds like - an opportunity to hone your skills before stepping into the virtual ring for real. One feature that definitely added a spark to the combat was Super Punch. This knockout blow can instantly turn the tide of a fight, keeping you on your toes. Reviews were mixed. The PlayStation version received positive reviews from critics, while the Nintendo 64 version fell somewhere between a jab and a right hook. The Game Boy Color version was, unfortunately, completely rejected by reviewers.
