Mortal Kombat X is a continuation of the famous cinematic fighting game from the NetherRealm studio. Not only does the game introduce a number of new fighters, but the mechanics are also significantly updated. The game's plot covers the events of the previous part of Mortal Kombat 9 and the next 25 years. Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade had a daughter named Casey, Jax Briggs and his wife Vera had a girl, Jacqueline, Kenshi had a son, Takeda Takahashi, and Kung Lao had a nephew, Kung Jin. The newly formed young team, with the help of the old guard, will have to defeat Shinnok, who replaced Shao-Kahn and eager to rule the Outer World and the Earth Kingdom. Events start from the moment when Cage tells the children about the War of the Gods and the death of many allies, when the necromancer Quan-Chi revived them and turned them into undead, and meanwhile, our world is again invaded by the Brotherhood of Shadow. The defenders of the Earth will once again have to engage in a Mortal Battle with the demons of the Lower World. During the campaign, the heroes will encounter characters familiar from the series, such as Raiden, Reiko, Mileena, Fujin, Sub-Zero and many others. The story also introduces completely new fighters, including: • Kotal Kahn, who has the appearance of the Aztec god of war; • Di'Vorah – insect woman; • Ferra/Torr - a pair where the gnome sits on the shoulders of a giant; • Aaron Black is a masked killer who uses two pistols; The combat system has undergone significant changes. Although the basics remain the same - players fight with a variety of attacks, special moves, bloody finishes and using X-Ray, which is a lethal combination of blows, but now before each fight players choose one of three different fighting styles, which directly affect the list of moves and tactics of the fighter. For example, Scorpio in Ninjutsu mode uses two blades, Hellfire is based on the use of fire magic, and Inferno summons undead that can help in battle. Mortal Kombat X has a faction system where each player chooses a clan for which they will receive points by competing with each other. At the same time, many familiar elements remained untouched, including classic towers, challenges, the ability to perform fatalities and the Krypt, carried over from the previous game.
