No Man's Sky is a simulator of a pioneer on a cosmic scale: algorithms generate 18 quintillion celestial bodies with distinctive ecosystems. The transition from orbit to the surface is seamless, without a single loading screen, and the visuals are imbued with the aesthetics of classic seventies science fiction - even routine mineral collection turns into an artistic journey. The plot thread leads to the mysteries of the center of the galaxy, but never dictates the direction. Progression is based on the modernization of the spacesuit and personal starship: protection increases, the hold expands, and advanced weapon modules are installed. Success is measured by the ability to find rare isotopes and sell them profitably on interstellar markets - but valuable cargo invariably attracts space pirates, and strong artillery ceases to be a luxury. Multiplayer has long outgrown the admiration of other people's bases: joint expeditions, entire settlements, virtual reality mode and cross-platform saves work on any device. Years of updates have added fishing, squadron management, and even genetic experimentation with pets.
