Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is an online shooter about the Eastern Front. The campaign covers the war years, when the Red Army held off the Wehrmacht. Maps recreate real battle sites. Tanks require a crew of several people, and without a driver the vehicle stands still. The round continues until the defense or breakthrough task is completed. Tanks support infantry in open areas. Buildings, structures and even small details of the area are displayed in precise sequence. The game was created for multiplayer battles, although there is also a single player game with bots. Units of different sizes enter the map: eight by eight, sixteen by sixteen and thirty-two by thirty-two. The rifles are loaded manually, and accuracy depends on the shooter's shutter speed. The trenches and dugouts on the maps are recreated based on documents. The round can end by time or by the number of losses. Fighter classes reveal themselves on the field in different ways. Drivers handle vehicles better, infantry holds the trenches and streets. Tank battles require knowledge of armor vulnerabilities. The commander class sets tasks and adjusts fire on the target. Aimed fire requires endurance, and reloading takes time. The infantry supports the tanks, protecting them from grenades. The coherence of the squad is more important than personal accuracy. Without support, it is almost impossible to advance on the map. Real maps include villages, fields and ruined streets. Troops storm positions and knock the enemy out of their houses.
