Scorn

Scorn, inspired by the biomechanics of Giger, the gothic works of Beksinski, the dark fantasy of Lovecraft and the psychoanalysis of Freud, throws the player into a disgusting, vile, but at the same time interesting and mysterious world, the history of whose decline the gamer will have to learn without clues and other familiar notes. Making his way through corridor locations reminiscent of a certain symbiosis of the insides of a person and a spaceship, literally immediately after birth, the main character will be faced with non-trivial, but not the most complex puzzles, various mechanisms and a couple of enemies. The upcoming path into the unknown will be complicated by the lack of an interface and a complete lack of understanding of what is happening around. Skorn is not positioned as a horror and action first-person shooter in the usual sense for gamers, but inclusions of these genre components are inherent in the game. Rather, we have a walking adventure through a truly unique world, where some creatures are literally born from the so-called Genesis Wall, others, the Moldmen, are “manufactured” and processed in a factory known as the Assembly, others, artificially bred homunculi, create outlandish engineering devices, and others oversee it all. They observe an out-of-control war between the Homunculi and the Moldmen, where the latter, once beings processed into nutritious paste, are almost completely destroyed due to infection by a virus originating from the Crater. The main character finds himself in the very center of the war - in a labyrinth where the concept of “life” has several meanings. The player's task is to guide the protagonist through the labyrinths of the factory and get to Polis - a city where a superior race, having reached the limit of its development, created a new form of existence, independent of carnal pleasures and the physical mortal body, vulnerable to disease.
