Description
There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension is a humorous adventure where you need to click on elements in locations. There seems to be no game here, and this becomes part of what is happening. The presenter tries to convince that there is no game, and his remarks comment on every action. It turns out to be a dialogue with the interface, not with the character. Sometimes the presenter directly asks you to close the program and do something else.
Puzzles are based on interaction with the interface: inscriptions, cursor, menus and system tips work as tools. Sometimes the only thing that helps solve a problem is that you deliberately prevent something from happening. The locations parody different genres: from classic adventures to mobile clickers with in-app purchases. This is especially true for projects that sell add-ons instead of content.
The journey takes you through different video game universes, each parodying familiar genres. The visual style and voice acting emphasize the comedic tone, and there are enough jokes to last the entire playthrough. Sometimes the problem is solved by the player breaking the usual order: moving elements, reading system prompts, or stopping clicking altogether.
The project grew out of a short free version and was praised for its ingenuity. The story is simple, but presented vividly, and the ending explains why it all happened. Music and the presenter's voice add to the mood.
For those players who love metagames and funny situations, this adventure is suitable. The duration is short, and hints are available in the settings if the riddle is completely difficult to solve.
