Valiant Hearts: The Great War

A 2D side-scrolling platformer, Valiant Hearts: The Great War takes us back to World War I, with five characters narrating the story. They are all interconnected, and on the basis of these connections a love line, plot devotion to the country, and hatred of war are built. After the death of Franz Ferdinand, Germany starts World War I, declaring hostility towards Russia. In the center of our events is Karl, a German living in the center of France, who was deported to his homeland, from where he was sent to the army, to the front. The second character is Emil. Karl's wife's father is Marie. He is sent to the front line in the French army. Karl and Emil meet in the camp of Baron Dorff, who takes Marie's father prisoner. The heroes recognize each other, but the British infantry forces the baron to leave by airship, and the meeting ends. The third character is Anna. She works as a doctor in the army, where, together with Emil, she meets Freddie, a lucky man from America who entered the French army on a voluntary basis. All the heroes of the game are repeatedly encountered on the battlefields, where the main goal is to defeat Baron Dorff. Solving puzzles and logic problems, we are smoothly transported to 1917, when the Americans officially landed in Europe. The game's graphics are completely handmade, which helps players immerse themselves in the expanses of green France, German dirty trenches and love based on all things human. The plot is linear and pushes the player to perform a limited number of actions, but this is unlikely to upset anyone, unlike the ending.
