Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a third-person action role-playing game set in a dark Asian fantasy setting. Events take place in the era of the Three Kingdoms, but history is driven not only by war, but by the misfortune associated with the approaching chaos. Combat is based on parrying and timing: dodging and blocking work together, and bosses require you to memorize techniques. There is a morality system that makes retreating and exploring an advantage. In addition to battles, there are equipment, magic and spirits that help in battle. Separately, it is worth mentioning about parrying: without it, the battle turns into torture, so the mechanics are mastered from the first hours. Spirits, equipment and magic work together, and the combination determines the course of battle. Unit morale affects capabilities, so reconnaissance and skirmishes with small groups provide an advantage. Bosses require skill and patience, and this is the main test. The design leans towards dark fantasy, and the music adds tension during battles with strong opponents, where a mistake costs your life. The morale of the squad increases with victories, and decreases with defeats, and this is noticeable in the behavior of the opponents. Assault episodes are followed by quiet ones, so one tactic does not work throughout the entire game. Equipment, magic and spirits help in battle, and their combination decides the outcome of the fight. Reconnaissance and skirmishes with small groups increase morale, and this affects the available opportunities. The game is challenging and requires patience, but it greatly rewards you for understanding the mechanics. For those players who like calculated challenges, the project provides suitable experience.
