Salt and Sanctuary

In Salt and Sanctuary, the player will have to explore a mysterious island that he ended up on as a result of a shipwreck. The setting is dark fantasy, and the mechanics of Dark Souls and Castlevania are taken as a reference point. The gameplay is presented in the form of a 2D side-scroller. The player explores vast locations and fights difficult enemies. Each movement costs stamina points, be it running, rolling, punching or blocking. Found weapons, armor, rings and various artifacts affect the hero’s movement speed. The main characteristics are represented by strength and dexterity. Ranged attacks available. Leveling up is represented by a skill tree, but is tied to specializations. There is no way to view the map, so you should carefully remember the location of the locations. Instead of souls, the player collects salt, which can be spent on improving a hero or weapon. If you die, the accumulated salt will be lost. There is a chance of returning it if you run to the place of death. Otherwise it will all disappear forever. A co-op for two has been implemented, where the second player controls a mercenary. There is a war going on in the world of Salt and Sanctuary. But there is an island that does not participate in the bloody feud. “Sanctuaries” are places where travelers can feel protected. The main character accompanied the princess, who was supposed to get married to end the war. But as a result of an attack by the Krikens, their ship sank. Once on a mystical island, you will have to meet not only the creatures of darkness, but also the powerful ruler of these lands - the Nameless God.
