Valkyria Chronicles

Valkyria Chronicles follows resistance fighters facing enemies from two sides: the Eastern European Imperial Alliance and the Western European Atlantic Federation. The player acts as the commander of a detachment that has sent the country's only platoon to defend a small state. Wounded soldiers are carried out of the battlefield. A sniper selects targets from above. Welkin is the protagonist of the game, controlling the destinies of the people under his control. The battles combine tactical and strategic genres: characters are placed on the field, and they are controlled in real time on a turn-based basis. Since there are several people in the squad with special classes, the player finds himself in the hands of a sniper, a grenade launcher, tanker Welkin and several militia soldiers. Tanks break down fortifications, but are vulnerable to infantry. Between battles the squad rests and trains. The classes are balanced among themselves. The infantry copes with the tanks due to the slowness of the latter, snipers and scouts report the appearance of a large number of infantry, and the tankman deals with the enemy’s foot units. While the Second European War is in full swing, two superpowers decide to take over Gaul for the sake of limitless resources - ragnites. Reconnaissance reveals enemy positions. Control goes to both Welkin, who became a lieutenant at the head of the militia, and Alicia, a middle-class intelligence officer and non-commissioned officer of the protagonist. The strategy here is a separate part of the game, and everyone learns the plot in their own way. Orders are given directly on the battle map.
