Gears of War

Gears of War is a dark third-person shooter about the war on the planet Sera. Humanity is fighting the Locust, a reptilian race that has emerged from the depths. You will play as Marcus Fenix: a veteran of the Pendulum Wars and a former prisoner leads the Delta squad and holds the front where the rest have already surrendered. The combat system is based on firefights from behind cover: take a position, run across, pin down the enemy with fire. The signature mechanic is active reloading: a window caught in time gives a short increase in damage. The hallmark of the arsenal is the Lancer assault rifle with an integrated chainsaw for close combat. The campaign is filled with intense forays and battles with giant creatures.
