Medieval Kingdoms Total War (Attila Version) is a modification for Total War: Attila, where an independent rural people decides to secede from the Holy Roman Empire. The Swiss Confederation is an association of small cantonal states. Each has its own rules, government and laws. Small countries united to defend their independence from the German feudal lords. The Alpine terrain makes it difficult for cavalry to maneuver. The United Cantons are one of the few states trying to resist the military crush of the Habsburgs. Later, the unification becomes one of the most prominent in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The fan addon changes both the gameplay and the visual part. Character models have received deep detail, the surrounding world has been worked out more carefully, and new units have been added. Pikemen hold formation against cavalry. There are twenty-two factions in the mod. Among them are England, France, Burgundy, Aragon, Sweden, Hungary, the Second Bulgarian Empire, Serbia, the Nicaean Empire and the Latin Empire. Most of the neighbors are almost indistinguishable in characteristics, but in France the list of warriors was expanded from thirty-five to almost a hundred. City sieges require artillery. Twelve types of crossbowmen and several melee infantry options - swordsmen, spearmen, mace or ax fighters - make the French army diverse. Kievan Rus has a noticeably smaller number of fighters.
